Let’s take care of what sustains us and makes us different and rich!

We had prepared a program of local actions around climate change in the Barbate River basin to be carried out between April and June of this year 2020. The Covid-19 pandemic has made us rethink not only the dates, but also the essentiality and format of each of the actions in this program.

In these actions, from the learning community Apijanda, we started to forge a project of didactic talks about the care of the wild, in relation to the situation of climate change and focusing on the health of the honeybee in La Janda.

The program “Estamos + cerca” of the Diputación de Cádiz, asked us for this video, in which we included the workshop carried out with Jonathan Powell in the farm of La Donaira. The learning community shared their experiences with other projects that protect biodiversity in the south of the Iberian Peninsula, focusing on the care of the honeybee.

We leave you with the video that tries to synthesize in two modules the information we have at the moment about how climate change is affecting the Barbate River basin, and about how some beekeeping re-wilding actions could reinforce a change in attitudes towards the wild.
